Dilico Day Treatment Centre

The Day Treatment Centre is a non-residential treatment facility for Elementary School aged, Native children who are exhibiting behavioral problems within their community. This educational program is staffed by 2 full time teachers and runs from September to June of each year. The children attend the program from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch and transportation are provided by the agency. Therapy and education are integrated throughout the day.

Dilico Ojibway Child and Family Services has adopted a holistic approach that embraces the teachings of the Medicine Wheel. The Seven Native Teachings of Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility and Truth are taught along with the Tribes' teachings that encourage unity and inclusion. An integrated continuum of service is designed to complement the strengths, values and traditions of individuals, families and communities to strive to achieve a balance and well-being within the native environment.

The Day Treatment program operates under the Child & Family Services Act - Child & Family Intervention, Mental Health Act, Young Offenders Act and Section # 23 of the Education Act Regulations.
